Blue Lake School Mission Statement

The mission of Blue Lake Elementary School, a partnership of school, parents, business, and community, is to prepare children for the future by providing knowledge and skills to achieve academic excellence, personal growth, and success in a safe and diverse environment. The Blue Lake staff is continually seeking to improve our school using a wide variety of strategies, research instruments, and suggestions from other professionals. As you read this report card from Blue Lake School, I believe that you will see a school that provides a quality education for students, has a staff that is professionally skilled and personally committed to meeting the individual needs of students, and is within a community that supports the efforts of the school and its students. The school enjoys the Arts through phenomenal support from a parent-community group forming the Blue Lake Education Foundation. We also receive financial donations from Blue Lake School PTO, Mad River Grange, and Blue Lake Rancheria.

Mustang Monitor

The Mustang Monitor is the morning announcements that are read to each class at the beginning of the day.

PTO Purpose & Mission

Our Mission as a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at the Blue Lake Union Elementary School District is to promote and encourage communications among parents, teachers, administration and the community. The PTO also sponsors and organizes school events, which enrich our community spirit and enhance our children’s educational experience at our school. The purpose of our organization is to benefit the students and community at large with the intent to serve the needs of the district and its students through planning, organizing, and financing fund-raising activities.

All of our activities shall be conducted in a safe manner for the benefit of the students, participants, and the general public. It is also the intent of the organization to abide by the “Auxiliary Organization Guidelines” established by Nor cal ReLiEf.

Another purpose is to spend money, generated by fundraising, so as to enrich the students’ educational experience. The PTO will collaborate with the administration and staff of Blue Lake School to determine how to spend the money. We also want to generate and encourage parental participation in the organization and school activities.

Membership is open to all parents, students, family members, and teachers of Blue Lake Union Elementary School. A nominal amount of annual membership dues shall be determined by the board. Any member shall be eligible to vote, to serve on the PTO board, and to serve on various committees. The PTO Executive Board members and Committee chairs are nominated and then elected by PTO members each Fall. We hold open meetings every month during the school year. Dates and times can be found on the 'Meetings Dates' page on our website and also flyers will come home with the students announcing the meetings and events we sponsor.

Parents should contact the PTO with questions about any PTO programs currently in place, as well as any ideas for new programs that would enrich our school community or provide financial support for school programs.
