The Rising Stars Foundation was developed to support county-wide educational enrichment activities for Humboldt County’s students. Examples of those activities are the Doris Niles Humboldt County Science Fair, Stellar Student Academic Achievement Awards, Young Entreprenuers Business Challenge and the Gary T. Roberts Northcoast Industrial Technology Fair. Research strongly shows that when students are engaged in challenging activities they enjoy, they excel and become empowered. We believe that when those activities are available for all students, the community is strengthened and enriched as well.

The Rising Stars Foundation, under the sponsorship of the Humboldt County Office of Education and advised by a Foundation Board, has developed five themes or interest areas to support Humboldt County’s students. Please click on each of the five areas for a more detailed description.

Our vision is that all Humboldt County students will be involved in educational enrichment activities. In order to do that, we need to increase the number of activities for students and the support to provide those opportunities.
