Arboretum Curriculum
Some of these pages are simply information; some are
activities. Arb visits for grades 1-3 were usually group tours
with me pointing out things. Grades 4-6, with larger classes
couldn't do this, but the students' abilities and maturity (it's
all relative!) allowed a "go find this information yourself"
format. Each student gathered the required information on his
own paper, pencil, and "clipboard."
Paper, pencil, and an assignment make it more likely the student will effectively learn.
These paper-and-pencil exercises could be done by younger students if they worked with
an older person, such as a study buddy or an adult.
