MISSION & VISION STATEMENT

The Mission of Peninsula School is to produce citizens who have the capacity to apply knowledge and cultural understanding to new contexts, appreciate beauty and care for the environment. The Vision of Peninsula School is to help students develop and utilize academic and social skills necessary for effective participation in a democratic society. Furthermore, it is our goal to help students attain independence, gain skills and see learning as a way to improve their lives. We have identified positive character traits that include the capacity to care for one's self and others, the ability to work with others, and willingness to take risks. We aim to provide our students with opportunities to contribute in meaningful ways to our learning community and the extended community as they learn that individuals can make a difference in their world.

Academic content is aligned with the State of California Standards and the Mission and Vision of the school is reviewed by the teachers as a part of the professional development process and by the School Site Council annually.

Our school encourages students to think creatively and to
express their ideas in a safe and nurturing environment.
