Agnes J. Johnson School is located in the western portion of the Southern Humboldt Unified School District. The
school community is in a mountainous, rural, area along the Eel River. The school is north of the district office in
Garberville. The school serves the students of the surrounding communities inclucing Weott, Myers Flat, and
Miranda.
Agnes J. Johnson is the second largest elementary school in the district. The school enrolls about 64 students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The purpose of Agnes J. Johnson, along with all the other schools in the district, is to provide an environment that will ensure that the classrooms effectively and safely support and encourage each students positive, academic, personal, and social growth. Agnes J. Johnson has 3 classrooms in use. It also has a multi-purpose room where you can find the cafeteria, a stage, and the gymnasium. There is a large play area for the students along with a large baseball field. There is also a chicken coop and a garden. |
